What is Schoenstatt?

A Covenant of Love

I

A Covenant of Love

Schoenstatt is rooted in a Covenant of Love with Mary — Mother of Jesus and our Mother, the Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen, and Victress of Schoenstatt. This covenant is a path of life and a bond that transforms.

A Family

II

A Family

The Covenant of Love makes us a family — with Mary as our Mother, Father Kentenich as our Founder, and the Shrine as our home. A movement of renewal welcoming people of all ages and walks of life.

A Place of Grace

III

A Place of Grace

The Shrine is a source of spiritual life and renewal, where Mary leads us to Jesus and opens our hearts to the Holy Spirit. In the covenant’s grace we are transformed and sent forth as apostles.

A Mission

IV

A Mission

Schoenstatt carries a mission received through the Covenant of Love: to help the Church renew the world in Christ and Mary, forging free, filial, and harmonious personalities that unite faith with daily life.

A Spirituality

V

A Spirituality

An original path within the Church built on three pillars — the Covenant of Love with Mary, an awareness of being instruments of God’s love, and the sanctification of everyday life.

A spiritual family whose many branches and communities join to form a single Schoenstatt Family.

A global movement
